This 3 day (24 hours) entry level pistol course covers safe ownership and proper use of a semi-auto handgun. Through utilization of demonstration, lecture, range procedure and some simulation drills the participant is taught safe handling of a handgun in close distance situations, either on the street or for home-defense. Both beginners and individuals with previous handgun training will benefit from this course by learning the ingredients to improve proper skill development. The participant will achieve a higher level of confidence and will learn necessary safety measures when carrying a handgun for protection in defensive situations.
Students must have either a valid Alaska Concealed Carry Permit, provide current military or law enforcement identification, or have obtained a State of Alaska background check prior to participating in this training.
